Some different aspects of my work in the media industry.
Bold Let’s Talk

Bold Let’s Talk is a live 30-minute charity production in support of Kids Help Phone, dedicated to highlighting the diverse range of mental health issues that student-athletes face. This show was my final assignment in RTA 234: Intermediate Multi-Camera Sports.
This course challenged my team to create a show centred around mental health in sports, but as a team, we decided that producing a show was not enough. We strived to create real change and support the services that help people struggling every day.
This show was the culmination of over a month’s worth of work, combined with many late nights, production meetings and quick changes, and I couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out.
To say that Bold Let’s Talk was a success would be a massive understatement; we truly could not have pulled everything off without the help of our professor, Ryan Sykes, and all of our generous donors.
As the host of Bold Let’s Talk, I was responsible for scripting out the show and ensuring the segments were correctly timed. I also created and managed the Bold Let’s Talk GoFundMe page in support of Kids Help Phone, helping raise over $1,000 through social media and promoting to friends and family. Along with these duties, I also created a LinkedIn page for Bold Let’s Talk, posting behind-the-scenes content, fundraising updates and engaging and informative show content.
Tijuana Tiger Sharks

Created for CRI 300 (Digital Design Studio), the Tijuana Tiger Sharks are a fictional NBA expansion team; the first in Mexico and outside of the United States.
This conceptual team and its elements were all created by me, and helped me learn about the key components to establishing a memorable brand.

The first two assignments in CRI 300 allowed me to hone my skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of texture, colour grading, and lighting. Pictured above are the promotional images I created for various assignments.
My third assignment in this course was to create a promotional video using Adobe After Effects. I had a vision in my head and did my very best to fulfill it by creating storyboards:
The promotional video is centred around the team’s upcoming Baja California Heritage Night, a theme night designed to celebrate the Mexican state the Tijuana Tiger Sharks play in. With this video, I had hoped to instill a sense of pride within those who reside in or have connections to Tijuana or Baja California and give them a place to express those feelings among like-minded people.
Pictured in this commercial is a player wearing a special “City Edition” jersey. The jersey that the player is wearing is representative of both Baja California and the Tijuana Tiger Sharks.
Featured on the jersey are vector elements: a silhouette of a surfer, palm trees, and some beach ground, as well as raster elements: the shark that appears on the modified crest, remodelled waves from the original crest, as well as the modified “Tiburones Tigre de Tijuana” text, also appearing on the reimagined, Tiger Shark-themed crest.

Pictured above are the initial design and render for the City Edition jersey, created and edited by me. To create this jersey, I took inspiration from the beach-themed basketball jersey pictured above, as well as from the Baja California crest.
The jersey features a surfer and some palm trees in a beach setting, representing the beaches of Baja California and the state’s love of surfing (specifically on Rosarito Beach).
Although there are no palm trees on Rosarito Beach, I felt it was necessary to add them in to create a more beachy feel when looking at the jersey. Featured on the jersey as well are the waves that come up from the water in the original crest, as well as one shark and the red sun with the text “Tiburones Tigre de Tijuana”.
For the final assignment of this course, I was tasked with creating a website prototype using Figma. While making this website, I combined all of the elements I had previously created. You can check out the website here.
Creating this fictional NBA team has been my largest solo project to date, and one that I’m by far the most proud of.
Graphic Design

With Adobe Photoshop skills learned in RTA 103 (Introduction to Digital Media), making player graphics became a fun hobby of mine, and a method of displaying appreciation for my favourite teams and players.
